A few weeks ago, I was chosen as a Ph.D. student representative for the department board. I have had similar positions before, so I’m familiar with most tasks, but one thing that is new to me is to participate in interviews for new Ph.D. student candidates. I was nervous before the first interview, thinking about what I should ask and how to behave. Probably not more nervous than the candidate, but still. I think I did a good job and I learned a lot!
I have also attended a meeting with other Ph.D. student representatives at LTH. It’s always interesting to learn how things work in other departments. I realized how nice the atmosphere is in our department. Everyone is up for helping each other, and we feel almost like a huge family. From the meeting, I understood that is not the case in all departments.
